Meghan Markle hits the road as Megxit drama plays out
Published on:
Meghan Markle hit the road Thursday in Canada, just days before Queen Elizabeth II revealed the terms of the Megxit deal.
Bundled up in a coat with a black beanie, the Duchess of Sussex, 38, was spotted behind the wheel of a Land Rover at Victoria International Airport, where she awaited the arrival of pal Heather Dorak, according to the Daily Mail.
Meghan has reportedly kept a low profile since returning to Canada earlier this month, not long after announcing she and Prince Harry, 35, would be stepping back as “senior” members of the royal family.
On Saturday, the Queen and Buckingham Palace released statements regarding Harry and Meghan’s future, confirming the couple would “no longer receive public funds,” and “will not use their HRH titles.”
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family,” the Queen stated, adding, “It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
Additionally, Meghan and Harry will also pay back $3 million for the renovation of their Frogmore Cottage home. The changes are slated to go into effect this spring.
