Scarlett Johansson And Colin Jost Got Married Over The Weekend
Published on:
Colin Jost once worried that he’d only ever be known as Scarlett Johansson’s boyfriend, but it looks like he no longer has to worry about that. Because Colin Jost just officially transitioned from boyfriend to husband! After being engaged for a year and a half, People magazine has reported that Scarlett made Colin her third husband over the weekend. And in a very weird, random turn of events (hey, it is still 2020 after all), the secret wedding news was broken by Meals on Wheels America.
COVID-19 threw a wrench into almost every soon-to-be-married-people’s wedding plans back in March. COVID has stuck around a whole lot longer than most of us probably expected it would, so some delayed weddings have turned into socially distanced, “I do through two layers of facemask fabric” weddings. Now, we’re not sure exactly how socially distanced ScarJo and CoJo’s secret COVID wedding was. But People describes the event as “intimate.” That makes sense, because coronavirus is out there making it impossible for people to throw the standard giant weddings they used to. But I’m not surprised Scarlett’s wedding would be intimate. She doesn’t have to invite that many people! She can be her own bride and bridesmaid and drunk aunt and distant cousin who keeps asking the caterers if her chicken has shellfish in it, because she’s got a shellfish allergy. Scarlett can play all the parts, remember?
This is 38-year-old Colin’s first marriage. It’s 35-year-old Scarlett’s third. She was first married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011, a fact that never stops being a shock to my system when I’m reminded of it, and Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017 (she shares six-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy with him). Scarlett and Colin have been together for just over three years.
But onto the wedding announcement. Scarlett and Colin took the mountain of attention they would have received for their wedding news and channeled into into a call to donate dollars to Meals on Wheels America. The Staten Island Ferry picture kind of makes sense for the new couple, as Scarlett was born in New York, and Colin was born in Staten Island.
Nobody really knows much about the actual ceremony itself, besides the fact that it was intimate and happened over the weekend. Colin had to work at SNL on Saturday, so I supposed you could assume the wedding happened on Sunday. We also don’t know who was invited, but at the very least, the mustard to Colin’s mayo, Michael Che, was probably there. He spoke about Colin’s wedding earlier this month on Ellen, saying that he assumed he’d be invited. via Us Weekly:
“I would love to go and just disrupt everything, you know…I think they’ll let me in because they feel like they have to. And I think that’s going to be a big mistake.”
Oh, I’m sure Michael Che wouldn’t have ruined Colin’s very special day on purpose. The only big mistake I could see him making would be after the part in the vows where his best work friend says, “I, Colin Jost…“. You know it would take all his willpower not to instinctively shout, “AND I’M MICHAEL CHE.”
